Hey Gxld Babes,

Welcome back to our Gxld Beauty Home, this week we are talking diet. No, I am not telling you to go on a diet for the perfect skin, but how what you put into your skin can and will affect what comes out of it. Skincare for some only may be skin deep but a lot of skin troubles comes from diet. Skin troubles like acne, inflammation can be all caused because of diet.

One way to look at it is there are all certain foods that help with body functions. For example blueberries are good for brain development and carrots are good for your eyes, but what foods do you eat for your skin?

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or skin specialist of any kind. I  do extensive research for each and every blog post when regarding diet, or your skin. Please understand these are based on my own GOOGLE research and talks with my Estheticians\ that I know personally.

Top 10 Foods For Healthy Skincare

1. Water

Water is an amazing detox for your body and skin with out the nasty taste. Water takes 0 seconds to digest so it is literally only cleaning you out. With this being said toxins that are in our daily diet do not stand a chance to linger in the body and wont potentially come out through our skin pores.

2. Leafy Vegetables

Leafy Vegetables just like water is a great detox for your body but it is also is packed with loads of vitamins and antioxidants . Some of these vitamins and antioxidants are Vitamin C, Lutien, and zeaxanthin. Those 3 in particular are great for muscle degeneration. And you got that right, I am talking about saggy skin and wrinkles. Now there are TONS products for these  skin conditions but w=you can also eat a lot of this stuff too. Some IOC the best leafy vegetables to eat to get all of these lovely vitamins and antioxidants are kale, Spinach, Collards, and mustards.

3. Tea

Tea is also an amazing source of vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids. All of these beautiful natural sources helps fight inflammatory in the body. A lot of times acne and skin conditions are mainly signs of inflammation. Inflammation can just means our white blood cells in our body are fighting bacteria and toxins in our body and needs a little extra help. A lot of this can be caused by food such as fried or oily sugary foods. Tea gives the help our body needs. Also, tea is great for detoxing, like water it has a very low digestive time so it is literally just cleaning our body digestive track.

4. Berries

Berries not only taste amazing but they do amazing things for our skin. Berries such as raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries are packed with loads of antioxidants. These antioxidants in the berries help with vascular constricting, Okay so what the heck does that mean? That means that berries help release the constrictions in blood vessels that can sometimes make you appear to have redness in your skin. A lot of the time redness in our skin is caused from constricted blood vessels. These vessels can be constricted from stress, diet, or sometimes the redness in skin can be hereditary. If you noticed a sudden change in skin redness try berries, of course if the redness continues I do recommend seeing a doctor.

5. Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes, my personal favorite kind of potatoes are not only amazingly good but amazing for skin. Sweet potatoes are rich in both Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin C as we went over before is great for wrinkles and saggy skin. Vitamin C helps maintain skin elasticity. Vitamin E is great for cell function and skin health. Vitamin E is very effective in combating free radicals produced by the metabolism of food and toxins in the environment. With this being said Vitamin E is great for the actual repair of your skin. Together Vitamin C & E makes a strong duo

6. Coffee

Of course Gxld Natural knows and loves all of the beautiful benefits of coffee but this is for the people who did not know! Coffee is rich in Vitamin B-3, vitamin b-3 is effective in combating skin cancer. Not only it being rich in Vitamin B-3 the caffeine is Coffee is actually great for your skin. Now coffee is actually better topically used then when we actually drink it. The fine grinds of coffee are amazing for skin exfoliation. The fine grinds are not harsh on the skin but also helps generate blood flow in skin making it appear brighter and reducing inflammation. The caffeine in coffee is also great foreheads puffiness and cellulite reduction. Now you see why we love our coffee scrub so much!

7. Chocolate

Now chocolate is great for your skin but remember we are not talking about ALL chocolate. Specifically we are talking about Dark  Chocolate. A lovely cousin of the coffee plant chocolate comes from the cocoa bean. The cocoa bean is RICH in loads of antioxidants, and dark chocolate is the purest form we have from the cocoa bean so that means it is loaded with antioxidants as well! These antioxidants of course helps ward off any freed radicals in the body that can potentially come out through skin. In combination with minimal amount of caffeine in Dark Chocolate it is also great in detoxing the skin. It allows dead skin cells to fall off, allowing fresh skin to shine through. Now how does it do that well, your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells, dark chocolate gives you skin the extra push it needs.

8. Salmon

Salmon is all around a great healthy fish to eat, but after I tell you all of the amazing things it can do for your skin you are going to want to eat more of it. Salmon is one of those great fishes that packed with loads of vitamins, nutrients and minerals that are also found in our skin. SO, this means Salmon helps with the overall production of new skin cells. Your body naturally makes their own skin cells, but your body of course needs all of the ingredients to do so. What we don’t realize is that in order for our body to continue to make these cells, it needs the ingredients to do so.

9. Citrus Fruit

Citrus fruits like lemon or lime are some of my personal favorite fruits. But, not only are they really tasty and sour they are amazing for spot treatment n skin. Citrus fruits are the some of the best sources to get Vitamin C. This Vitain C in citrus fruits is ascorbic acid. Now don’t get scared when we say acid, This is a mild acid that is highly effective in treating hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and acne. Of course, be carful when using any acidic ingredients or product. Only leave on skin for 5 mins at a time.

10. Olive Oil

Olive oil is an amazing detox. Drinking olive oil in the morning or even using it as a substitute in cooking is great for detoxing the body from impurities and a bad diet. The Vitamin D and E contents also helps moisturize skin. While helping improve the skin cosmetically but it can also prevent skin cancer.

Overview

Overall beauty is not only skin deep. What you put ito your body does come out, but it is up to you wether the outcome is good or bad.
